BURN SURVIVORS NEPAL CONTINUE THEIR LIFE SAVING WORK
Burn Survivors Nepal is an NGO which has helped those experiencing the tremendous suffering caused by severe burns which is in a major problem in Nepal. Many patients cannot afford the costs of surgery, medicine and proper care and this is where this organization kicks in saving and has saved many many lives over the years.
The earthquake of 2015 made the situation much worse and many Nepali’s ended up living in unsafe conditions and using primitive kerosene stoves to cook with.
WeHelpNepal provided a grant of $11,000 which not only went directly to cover the costs of burn victims but provided salaries and overhead for the organization for a 6 month period. The organization works closely with doctors and hospitals in Kathmandu and fills in the gaps providing much needed pain medications, bandages and nursing care which gives the patients a much better chance at survival and good medical outcomes.
Relief aid, while well intentioned, often ends up in the pockets of corrupt local bureaucrats and/or multinational contracts, with very little reaching the people that actually need it. Ensure that your contributions reach those in need.
