HDSN Medical Camp in Sindupalchowk

We Help Nepal helped organize an expedition to Thokhorpa, Sindhupalchowk last weekend. It was a productive two days for a team of 25 volunteers and six organizations coming together for a cause to serve the ones affected by the earthquake.

We Help Nepal funded the dental activities and educational posters left behind at the school. The medical team went nonstop till we headed back and treated more than 320 patients while the acupuncture team stopped recording after crossing 250 in numbers. On both days, volunteers entered children and offered a library and facepainting. The dental team saw more than 260 patients with over 165 extractions and 25 restorations.

The children from the high school waved us good bye with garlands and an everlasting imprint of hospitality and pride that we could do something for them in whatever way we can. We arrived late after an adventurous journey back through some landslides and traffic along the way, however safe, sound and satisfied; proving yet again how wonderful our team is.

Here's a quick video of the event:

Relief aid, while well intentioned, often ends up in the pockets of corrupt local bureaucrats and/or multinational contracts, with very little reaching the people that actually need it. Ensure that your contributions reach those in need.
