August was a busy month for Cultural Youth Society Nepal. Uniforms and school supplies were purchased and distributed to 27 students at Mudkshor school in Ramechhap and 30 bundles of metal sheeting for 17 households were distributed to nearby families in need.
Later in the month the group travelled to Sundrawati VDC of Doklha, Charikot district distributing 75 sacks of rice and 12 sacks of lentils to 75 households experience continued food shortages.
Relief aid, while well intentioned, often ends up in the pockets of corrupt local bureaucrats and/or multinational contracts, with very little reaching the people that actually need it. Ensure that your contributions reach those in need.
